December Water Service Disruptions
Hello all,
Last Thursday, from approximately 6am-630am there was a water service interruption, followed by low water pressure until about 730am.
We responded by reviewing the system at 930am, and it appeared everything was working normally. The issue was “assumed” to be a possible power outage.
But there was another interruption midday on Saturday (i think). AGAIN by the time we were alerted and reviewed plant operations, all was normal again.
It is a bit difficult to fix a problem, when the problem comes and goes, and to date is unknown. It appears to only be an issue 30-60 minutes, then returns to normal. This is highly unusual as we have never experienced issue this before.
What we are doing:
1-Now that I am back in town, I am checking the plant out daily. All the pumps are working, I test each and every one of them. Both wells appear to be fine. Tim and our plant personnel are also looking for clues as to the problem.
2-We have discontinued using Jax Util as our emergency after hours contact. We understand they have not been responsive.
3-Our new plant manger Bill Young, will take the after hours emergency calls. His number, along with the ALSOP number can be found on our homepage. Since he live locally, we expect his response time to be exponentially better.
4-We are exercising all gate valves this week (done 2x year). You may notice some temporary water discoloration as we do it. Only temporary.
How YOU can help: (Help us help you)
If the water goes out again please text (or call) me immediately, Dave, at 770-861-5209 immediately so we can assess the problem as it occurs. Or contact Tim or Chuck. Email is great but responding to an email an hour after the problem resolves itself does not work well.
Please understand the water plant is generally working exceptionally well. But twice now it appears to have failed (for short periods) and we want this resolved as much as you do.
