Our community supplies your potable water from a plant that operates  on Harbor. Water is pumped from two separate wells into a 24,000 gallon holding tank.

From there, high pressure pumps deliver water at an average of 50 PSI (pounds per square inch) to the supply lines that serve our homes. The wells are drilled 220 feet deep into the Florida aquifer, a vast underground reservoir that supplies many homes and farms in Northeast Florida. The water from the wells is bacteria free, but we add chlorine at the discharge point to protect against any leakage or contamination in the delivery system.  This also helps to negate that “Florida water smell”.

Our plant operation complies fully with all the requirements of the water division of the Florida EPA. These regulations require continuous testing for potential impurities such as copper and lead. From time to time, we may call on you to supply water samples from your home for these testing requirements.

Our most frequent complaint is that the water is hard, and does not suds up easily in dishwashing and showers. This is due to the presence of calcium and magnesium in the water, which prevents sudsing, but has absolutely no health problems associated with drinking or cooking. Many Homeowners have installed water softeners to handle this problem.

We do not provide sewer services, most lots utilize a septic system.

We determine our pricing every spring based on maintenance and plant operating costs from the prior year, plus anticipated capital expenditures for the coming year. Normally, we break our charges down into 3 or 4 levels, based on your water usage for the prior year. We are proud of the fact that our water bills continue to be below the cost of water deliveries in St. Augustine and surrounding communities.
